Student Staff – Support Assistant
Rate of Pay: £12.21 per hour, plus holiday pay
With the Community, Advice & Support team, Support Assistants will help ensure key wellbeing initiatives run smoothly. These include Cost of Living projects such as our Community Breakfasts and Pantry and finance information campaigns, as well as Harm Reduction initiatives. Harm Reduction is about raising awareness and education for students around drugs and alcohol, and how to keep safe generally whilst at university.
The role is wide ranging, from collecting donations for Community Pantry, to assisting at events, and talking to students via outreach. You will be part of strengthening the Guild’s contribution to our members’ wellbeing, helping students feel they belong to a supportive and welcoming community.
Hours: Able to work a minimum of 4 hours per week during term time. There is some limited work available in vacation periods.
Availability: Please note, this role starts in September 2026 and runs throughout the next academic year.
Training: 14th, 15th and 16th September 2026
Please note that this position is only available to students studying at the University of Birmingham who will be a registered student until at least December 2027
