Student Staff – Catering Assistant

Rate of Pay: £12.21 per hour, plus holiday pay

It’s a really exciting time to join our Venues team, as from May 2026 we will be operating in partnership with JD Wetherspoons.

Joe’s bar will continue to be run and managed by the Guild and the staff will continue to be employed and managed by the Guild. The partnership with Wetherspoons will not only allow us to access the Wetherspoons business model but will also support us in enhancing the student experience in a newly refurbished space.

This role involves working as part of the Catering team in the Venues food areas, contributing to a positive and productive atmosphere, following legal, Guild and brand standards with regards to environment, food storage, preparation and production.

Please note that Venues Catering Assistants are required to work up to 20 hours per week during term time. This role will involve working day, evening and weekend shifts.

Please note that this position is only available to students studying at the University of Birmingham who will be a registered student until at least December 2026.
